Flemington Police responding to a report of a suspicious male, potentially unconscious, found Douglas W. Courter, 42, of Woodbridge, Virginia, inside his vehicle at the festival on Saturday, Sept. 9, the department said.

Courter allegedly began acting “extremely uncooperative” and attempted to hide crack cocaine in his pants while refusing to follow officers’ orders.

He was eventually removed from the vehicle, which was then searched by officers who found crack cocaine, marijuana, paraphernalia, and a fully loaded Smith & Wesson M+P 15 rifle with a high-capacity 30-round magazine and collapsible stock, police said.

Courter was arrested and charged with possession of an assault firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, possession of crack cocaine and paraphernalia, obstruction, and being under the influence. He was being held in the Warren County Jail.
